The Huayruro plant is native to Peru, and has been an important part of Peruvian culture for centuries. Huayruro seeds are found in pods in the tall trees of the rainforest. The red and black seeds are said to bring good fortune and abundance, while warding off negative energy. The mixture of black and red on the seeds is also said to bring balance.
Each one of the pieces is 100% handmade with real seeds flowers and spices encapsulated with resin. The resin is poured in silicon molds and cures for 7 days. Once I remove it from the mold, I hand sand each piece through multiple grades of sandpaper to create a smooth, soft finish which shows in detail the object inside the resin.
